Institutional Training Grants

Institutional National Research Service Award

Program Purpose

To enable institutions to make National Research Service Awards to individuals selected by them for predoctoral and postdoctoral research training in specified shortage areas. The goal of this program is to prepare qualified predoctoral and/or postdoctoral trainees for careers that have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the Nation.

The re-entry candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, must have a research or health professional doctoral degree, with at least one year but no more than eight years of research career interruption.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR / PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

The PD/PI (Training Program Director) should be an established investigator, capable of providing both administrative and scientific leadership to the development and implementation of the proposed program.
